Orthopaedics – Hip surgery

Currently the 24cm Kocher straight artery forceps is being used in hip surgery to expose the acetabulum and for twisting wire.

Product code 01e078 22cm or 01e079 24cm.

This instrument is not robust enough for this procedure; consequently it becomes bent or is broken in use.

This results in surgeons complaining about the quality of instruments.

Ideally they should be using a wire twister or a TC needleholder.

In conjunction with Erbrich and Dr Spike Erasmus, we have developed an instrument, which should meet these needs.

It is called “Heavy Spike forceps” which looks like the straight Kocher.

The instrument is robust, has a 33.0mm jaw and is 24cm long.
